Antique camphor wood trunk from the early 20th century. Probably from Italy, there is a lock, but no key and the side handles are missing. Genuine Lloyd Triestino cabin sticker on reverse and a partly papered interior. We have photographed in detail a non structural fragment loss in one corner. A rare fully fitted cabin trunk by highly regarded Philadelphian maker Belber (founded 1891). This example made around the time of the Jazz Age. While these do crop up from time to time, it is increasingly hard to find no dampness, original lining fabrics and the presence of the manufacturer’s laundry bags, would be possibly unique. Featuring extensively carved chest made from scented camphorwood. We are sure that everyone is aware that camphorwood is an ideal material as is resists all insects. There is a candle tray on the right and a simple traditional lock. This trunk was probably made around 1950.
