A reproduction Louis XV fall front writing bureau. Made in France in the mid 1900’s. With locks and multiple drawers this useful piece of furniture has a marble top. The fall front desk surface is covered with gold tooled leather. Please note the solid brass ormolu decoration. We make no secret of our enthusiasm for these compact desks which have come back into favour in the age of the laptop computer. There are some small veneer losses which do not impede use and could be addressed in a number of ways.
76 cm wide x 38 cm high and 131 cm high.
An antique desk with a folding top in the Dutch style, Made in Northern Europe in the mid 1800’s, this useful piece of furniture is entirely practical in large or more modest accomodation, offering a large ready to use cleared desk with paperwork drawers in the upper compartment. Below three further huge drawers for your clothes, or whatever you wish. The covert surprise, the secret compartment hidden in the writing top. Please don’t tell any one!
So what’s the bad news? In 1870 someone left a wine glass brimming with burgundy on the top, and there is a ring mark from the foot. Remove it if you wish.

An articulated or anglepoise desk or worktable light from the 1940’s. In Australia this work light was reinvented with great success by Planet. A style beloved of design devotees as well of those of us that just like to work under a bright light. We are particularly drawn to the on/off switch which looks like if it has been taken straight off the wall and sculpted in an integrated fashion to the base.
15 cm diameter at the base and 90 cm fully extended upwards.
A tall cabinet incorpoating a drop down desk with a gold tooled leather top. Similar in style to the fabulous Godwin cabinet with drop down desk recently sold by Leski’s in Armadale for $220,000. Well slightly similar!
On a more serious note, we make no secret of the fact that we love these tall desks that take up as much space as a book case and yet offer the desk writing option.
