A desk top stationery cabinet made in Australia by Clarke and Sons. Craftsman made from rare cedar it was made in the last half of the 1800’s. In very original condition regarding patina and some bruising of the wood. Authentic architectural hardware in the handles and internal latches.
Use with or without the doors.

This antique cedar chest of drawers has been modified by the removal of it’s original fixed mirror. It has been replaced by a (correct for period) toilet mirror. The other modification is the later castors. We feel it all works surprisingly well.

Impervious to woodworm, light and simultaneously strong this wood has remarkable qualities and so it is no surprise that it is no longer available.
