This rare to find completely original Australian meatsafe in cedar. Original patina and perforated zinc sides. Largely untouched for over 100 years as this would have been made in the late 1800’s. Measurements are 103 cm wide by 43 cm deep and 163 cm high.
Hall Table Aesthetic Movement Cedar Antique
An interesting little hall table made in the mid 1800’s in London by celebrated cabinet maker T.H. Filmer. Fearuring the restrained and elegant decorative style associated with the Aesthetic Period. Please note the unusual side drawer. We are fortunate that this is a fairly compact piece and would fit in most homes. Originally displayed in the Oxford Street showroom of the maker at the same time Charles Dickens himself strolled the streets of London. Who knows if he may have admired it’s shape as he peered through the glass of the gaslit window panes one evening in the metropolis.

A desk top stationery cabinet made in Australia by Clarke and Sons. Craftsman made from rare cedar it was made in the last half of the 1800’s. In very original condition regarding patina and some bruising of the wood. Authentic architectural hardware in the handles and internal latches.
Use with or without the doors.

This antique cedar chest of drawers has been modified by the removal of it’s original fixed mirror. It has been replaced by a (correct for period) toilet mirror. The other modification is the later castors. We feel it all works surprisingly well.

An antique chest of drawers made in Australia around 1900. In excellent useable order. Please note that there are some fine expansion lines on the left hand side and the top. These are commensurate with age, do not affect the use and are, if desired, easily filled.
