We are (unusually) reticent about commenting on this one. No idea where it is from, or it’s intended purpose. Possibly a breastplate from PNG. Any hints out there in the wide, wide world. Are there any students of ethnic culture that can identify this carving. May we note that the top uprights are partly hinged by secure weaving, indicating that it could be worn and adapt to movement.
